About Edith Schneider

I am an artist. I love colors and shapes. I am fascinated by reducing colors and shapes to a minimum to bring the most out of them. My work is puristic, simple, minimalistic. I like the idea of having only one color, one metal or one shape to emphasize this "red", that "silver" or those "lentils". I am inspired both from contemporary European design as well as Japanese design both of which share the idea of minimalism. Since 1998 I have lived, worked and taught in the Bay Area of California. I teach private jewelry classes in my studio at the Allied Arts Guild and do color and style consultations in my customer's homes. Both can be arranged by appointment (email es@edithschneider.com and write either "private class" or "consultation" in the subject line or call 650-327 2545).
I continued to study at the Palo Alto Art Center, the Mendocino Art Center, the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco and the Fashion Department at Cañada College in Redwood City.
I am a certified Color and Style Consultant, trained at "Karin Hunkel - Farbgefuehl", Germany.
1997 Master of Arts Degree in Art Pedagogue, Art History and Ethnic Studies from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich, Germany with an emphasis on Painting and Metalsmithing. 1987 Apprenticeship diploma in Lithography in Munich, Germany.
